Housing Australia Future Fund Facility opens Funding Round Two
Housing Australia today opened the Call for Applications for State and Territory Governments to participate in Funding Round Two of the Federal Government’s Housing Australia Future Fund Facility (HAFFF) to expedite the delivery of more well-located social housing.
Housing Australia will work closely with State and Territory housing agencies, with the aim to deliver up to 5,000 social dwellings across Australia. The model for Funding Round Two strongly encourages collaboration between State and Territory Governments, Community Housing Providers (CHPs) and other eligible organisations that provide social housing.
The focus for Funding Round Two is to deliver more social housing as quickly as possible to meet the overall program objective of 40,000 social and affordable homes over 5- years under the HAFFF and National Housing Accord Facility (NHAF).
The partnership with State and Territory Governments enables access to well-located land, speed to market for approvals and capacity to deliver improved social housing outcomes to address diverse housing needs.
The Call for Applications for Funding Round Two is now open and will close on Friday 31 January 2025, at 12 noon AEDT.
Housing Australia is working closely with Government and will be engaging with stakeholders from early next year to develop and open further market-based rounds from mid-year to support delivery of more social and affordable housing as soon as possible.
Housing Australia CEO, Scott Langford said, “Housing Australia is pleased to be collaborating with States and Territories to rapidly address the critical need for social housing for Funding Round Two. We are strongly encouraging models from States and Territories that enable partnering with CHPs. We look forward to working with the broader market in the new year to develop further approaches for future rounds to deliver more homes as soon as possible.”
